Portrait assignment

Final Assignment

Hey everyone,

Sort of a bittersweet situation putting together my final shots for this class especially after enjoying this course as much as I did. As they say, all good things must come to an end. With that being said, I found the only two models willing to help me this week (my girlfriend and my dog) to complete this final assignment. I tried to keep things as simple as possible and for whatever reason, my camera had a hard time focusing in this light situation and these are the sharpest shots that I was able to edit. It was a pleasure working with everyone and wish you all the best. As always, hope you enjoy.

Portraits

This week I attempted to capture pictures of my husband.  Clearly he was over modeling by the end of the photoshoot.  I attempted  to get the best photos. I think they came out pretty good.  I really enjoy taking photos and hope to get a better camera one day soon. I hope to get better at using photoshop and editing photos. That is one thing that I struggled with in this class. Overall it was great looking at everyones work this mod.

It was difficult finding people to model for this assignment so I included the kids I could get to sit still, along with my cats Buzz and Shoshi that were relaxed enough to pause from their busy schedules of lounging in the sun.  This was a fun assignment; I think it garnered much of the use from Photoshop that we have used throughout this course.  Because of this class I am much more interested in seeing something and creating an image from it, not just because it may be a typical photograph. 

 I will like to thank Professor Nevins for yet another great class. This will be my final class at Albertus Magnus and it was the best one yet . I enjoyed learning new things about photography. I will use everything that I gained from the class to take better photos. .

This assignment was very hard for me I took some picture of my godson, my parents and had someone take a photo of me and my boyfriend..

Grades/End of class

Hi Everyone,

Melissa DeLucia has let faculty know that grades are due now and that the absolute deadline for posting grades is 10 am on Monday morning.

I'll start the grading then around 7 am on Monday... Please have everything posted by then.

I hope you enjoyed this class and benefited from it!  My hope is that you will continue to engage in this medium (for the rest of your life :)) in a way that is intentional, curious and informed by all of the attention paid to composition, lighting and the formal elements of 2D design.  Edit your best work and be proud of it.

my second try

here is my second attempt at a portrait using natural light from a window. Again no one wanted to be a model but I was able to convince my wife to assist with my crazy dog. I liked these shots as it shows contrast as well as the craziness that my dog contains. I hope these paired with my first attempt equal something that isn't total crap.
